Exotic Pet Boarding FAQ
What do I need to bring for my pet’s stay?
Please provide your pet’s enclosure, food, enrichment items, bedding, heat lamps, hides, and anything else their care requires, as well as detailed care instructions.
What kind of care can you provide?
We’re happy to meet your pet’s needs however we can. We can provide daily interaction, enclosure maintenance, partial water changes, humidity monitoring, specialized feeding, and most oral/topical medications. Please call us to discuss your pet’s specific care needs or if you have any questions.
Do I need to make a reservation?
To ensure we have appropriate staffing to care for your pet, we ask you please make reservations for exotic pet boarding. Short-notice inquiries are welcome, of course, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Is my pet ever left alone?
At Das Hund Haus, your pets are never left unattended, including overnight. We’re staffed 24 hours, 365 days a year.
When can I drop off and pick up my pet?
You’re welcome to drop off and pick up your pet any time during our lobby hours, which are 9 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week. We’re flexible and can normally accommodate off-hours arrivals and departures, especially if advance notice is provided, for an additional cost.
Who is taking care of my pet?
Das Hund Haus is staffed by a full team of dedicated, pet-loving professionals including people who are personally experienced in the care and ownership of exotic pets. All pets in our care are treated with the same devotion, love, and respect.
Will my pet encounter dogs or cats?
Your pet’s day-to-day experience is completely separate from our canine and feline guests, as our exotic pets are lodged in a dedicated space of their own.
Are there any types of exotic pets you can’t accommodate?
Das Hund Haus is primarily equipped to care for smaller exotic pets who arrive in their own enclosures, but please give us a call to discuss your pet’s needs. While we aim to serve as many pets as possible, we’re not able to accommodate snakes.
